API Services, Inc. investigators conducted the initial case work to develop leads and suspects involved in a scheme to sell fraudulent Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre memorabilia to the public out of stores in Green Bay, Wisconsin. API was retained by a law firm from Madison, Wisconsin on behalf of their client, Brett Favre, to investigate possible theft by fraud allegations. It was alleged that two local businesses were selling the fraudulent merchandise as authentic memorabilia.
The investigative work done by API resulted in the State of Wisconsin filing criminal charges against two local Green Bay businessmen for selling the fraudulent merchandise and the owner of the print shop that actually produced the fraudulent merchandise. All were indicted and convicted in Brown County court. A civil judgment was negotiated on behalf of Brett Favre.
