Processing background screenings using API is a simple, effective process. After your account has been set up, each screening involves 3 steps.

1. Obtain a signed release form from the applicant

You must obtain a signed, written release authorization from each applicant you want to screen. This legally authorizes API to conduct a background screening and/or credit check of the applicant.

2. Send Information to API

E-mail or fax the related information to our background department, including job application, resume, and signed release authorization.

3. API returns completed background screening

Our background department will process your background screening request and compile information from all the selected sources into one easy-to-read report.

Backgrounds within Wisconsin typically are completed within 1 business day. Out-of-state or multi-state backgrounds are typically completed in 3-5 business days.
